The participants of the 2nd Meeting of Ministers on Disaster and Emergency Management of the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the Alley of Honor and paid tribute to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of Azerbaijani people, the architect and founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan as they laid a wreath at his tomb on September 8, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.
They also visited the grave of the prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and laid flowers at her grave.
Then the Alley of Martyrs was visited, and wreaths were laid on the graves of Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country’s independence and sovereignty, and a wreath was placed at the "Eternal Torch" monument.
