A free passage of the Armenian residents of Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region from the Lachin state border checkpoint continues with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), APA reports.
On August 8, a group of Armenian residents, accompanied by ICRC staff, passed through the Lachin border checkpoint and moved from Armenia in the direction of Khankandi.
The documents of Azerbaijani citizens of Armenian origin were checked and formalized at the checkpoint according to the procedure.
Apart from the residents, conditions were created for the passage of medicines, medical supplies and other necessary goods in ICRC vehicles.
Today, the free passage of Armenian residents of Karabakh from Khankandi in the direction of Armenia also took place. Conditions were created for 11 people with health problems to go to Armenia for treatment through the Lachin border checkpoint accompanied by ICRC staff.
This once again proves that the claims of the Armenian side about the closure of the Lachin road are groundless.
