Baku hosts international exercise "Baku-2023" with participation of OTS states-PHOTO

"Baku 2023" International exercise was held with the participation of rescue forces and equipments belonging to the organizations responsible for emergency management of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the area of Port of Baku located in Baku city of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, the Minister of Interior of Türkiye Ali Yerlikaya, the Minister of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan Major General Syrym Sharipkhanov, the Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Boobek Ajikeev, the Minister of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan Major General Abdulla Kuldashev, and Minister of Interior of Northern Cyprus Dursun Oğuz, General Director of Port of Baku Taleh Ziyadov, Executive Director of Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units Vugar Gurbanov, also executives of The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects of the Republic of Azerbaijan, The State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic, Azerbaijan Railways LLC participated in the exercise.

The training was held for the purpose of implementing the joint action mechanism of the rescue forces and means of emergency management agencies of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States during times of large-scale emergencies, identification of real resources, improving the management system and increasing the operational readiness of headquarters in this regard, carrying out emergency rescue and other urgent works during the time of large-scale emergencies, organization of interoperability and comprehensive provision.

The goals set in the successfully implemented training were achieved. In the end, a parade of the aviation detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan and the helicopters of the Republic of Türkiye flying over the exercise area with the national flag of Azerbaijan and the flag of OTS was held.

Note that a total of 8 helicopters and 1 amphibious aircraft, 245 special equipment, 6 specially trained dogs and 1180 personnel of the relevant institutions of the OTS countries participated in the exercise. In addition to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units, the Coast Guard of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the forces of Azerbaijan Railways and Baku International Sea Trade Port also participated in the exercise.
