State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan has organized the next infotour to the city of Khankendi, the Committee’s Press Service told APA.
A group of former internally displaced persons who have been involved in income-generating activities within the framework of the Implementation Plan of the First State Program on the Great Return participated in the infotour. They were introduced to the city, briefed on the ongoing restoration and reconstruction works, as well as employment opportunities being created there.
It was noted that, based on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev and the State Program, large-scale reconstruction measures are being carried out in the city, infrastructure is being restored, and necessary conditions are being created for people who work, study, and live there.
The infotour participants visited the Karabakh Textile Factory, where they were given detailed information about the operation of the enterprise, working conditions, and principles of human resource management. Employees of the factory stated that the employment measures had positively impacted their social well-being.
Later, the infotour participants visited Karabakh University. They were informed about the infrastructure established at the university, the teaching environment, and future plans. It was emphasized that the modern educational environment being formed at the higher education institution would make a significant contribution to the development of the region’s human capital.
The former internally displaced persons noted that the infotour was very useful and informative. They stated that such infotours are of great importance for becoming familiar with the progress of the Great Return, the process of permanent settlement in the region, and integration into economic activities, as well as for making plans.
Infotours to other liberated territories will continue to be organized within the framework of the Implementation Plan of the First State Program on the Great Return.
