The opening ceremony of "By Youth For Youth" International Forum is held in Azerbaijan’s Shusha, APA’s correspondent assigned to Shusha reports.
According to information, the International Forum "By Youth For Youth" has started its work under the joint organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
The purpose of the forum is to discuss the views and experiences of the youth of the Islamic World regarding peace building, sustainable development, culture, and the environment, to to create an opportunity for their participation in this field, to discuss innovative solutions, and to network young leaders.
About 200 people consisting of state officials, high-ranking officials of international organizations and various states, guests and individuals from ICESCO member countries participate in the forum.
Aydin Karimov, special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Shusha, who delivered the opening speech and greeted the guests, pointed out that construction works are being carried out in Shusha, and youth are also participating in this process.
He thanked the management of ISESCO and wished success to the participants of the forum.
During his speech, Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik, ICESCO Director-General, expressed gratidute to President Ilham Aliyev, Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, and Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov for their support for the event.
He said that in the future it is planned to expand the partnership with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He also said that they want to participate in the COP29 event held in Azerbaijan this year.
Speaking later, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov, briefed the guests that after the liberation of Garabagh from occupation, the construction works were started here. He conveyed his gratitude to the director of ISESCO for the trust in holding the event in Shusha, Azerbaijan, and to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for their assistance in the implementation of the project. The minister said that holding wide and comprehensive discussions are expected within the framework of the forum.
This event will contribute to increasing the participation of young people in the expansion of goodwill relations of Azerbaijan with different regions.
Note that the forum will continue tomorrow in Baku.
