"The Ombudsman Apparatus has not received any appeals from Armenians living in Karabakh so far," Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.
He noted that if the appeal is received, they are ready to immediately react. S. Aliyeva noted that we will do our best to integrate the Armenians living in Karabakh into our society: "They are our citizens. We will also defend their rights as we defend the rights of every Azerbaijani citizen".
Sabina Aliyeva noted that about 30 thousand people of Armenian origin are living in Azerbaijan today and during the 20 years of activity of the Ombudsman Apparatus, they have regularly applied in connection with this or other problems.
"We have defended them without any distinction. When it comes to the issue that Armenians visited our territories liberated from the occupation, as you know, our territories have been poisoned by mines. There are areas where 8 mines were found in 1 square meter. Currently, work is being done to clear our territories from mines. After life returns to those lands, regional offices will be established and the Ombudsman institution will also carry out its activities".
