Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education has lent clarity to the issue of closing of schools due to rapid infectivity of Omicron, APA reports.

Head of the Department of Organization and Management of General Education of the Ministry of Education Elnur Aliyev said that as of February 2, 2022, 9 schools in the country switched to distance education.

According to him, 299 classes continue education in online format: “For a week they will apply distance education. Currently, the statistics show that the number of infections is higher than previous months. However, if we take into account that the recoveries are more, currently infection situation is under control in schools. There is no problem that can cause the closing of schools.”
