Azerbaijan's Honored Artist Jabir Imanov passes away-UPDATED

Today at 13:38, an emergency call was received by the Republican Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Care regarding the deteriorating health of Honored Artist Jabir Imanov (born in 1976), who had collapsed in the area of Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, Sabail district, TABIB said in response to APA's inquiry.

An emergency medical team was immediately dispatched to the location. At 13:50, the team recorded the pre-hospital death of Imanov.

Honored Artist Jabir Imanov, a prominent Azerbaijani actor and KVN performer, has passed away at the age of 49, APA reports.

Born on June 22, 1976, in Baku, Imanov was a member of the “Parni iz Baku” KVN team from 1992 to 2001. During this period, he became a KVN champion in 1992, won the KVN Summer Cup in 1995, and earned the title of KVN “Champion of the Century” in 2000.

Since 2001, he had been an actor at the “Planet Parni iz Baku” KVN Theater. On September 14, 2015, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan. On October 16, 2021, he received the “Tərəqqi” (Progress) Medal for his contributions to the development of Azerbaijani culture.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
