A protest action is being held in Lezhbedinli village of Marneuli municipality, where Azerbaijanis live compactly in Georgia, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.
The residents are protesting the operation of stone quarries in the village area. The residents said that the stone quarries occupy their grazing areas and deprive the village of irrigation water by changing the river’s course.
The resident said that ninth stone quarry is being built in the village area currently. Regarding the protest, Omar Irishov, the member of Marneuli city council have come to the area. He stated that licenses and documents related to the area where they should operate will be required from the quarries, and the occupation of the land belonging to the village will be prevented.
