The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov met with the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Kubanychbek Omuraliev who visited Azerbaijan to attend the 2nd meeting of the Ministers on Disaster and Emergency Management of member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States, APA reports.
Noting that the constant improvement of the mechanisms of prevention and elimination of consequences of emergency situations in Azerbaijan is in the focus of attention, the minister said that in this context, the expansion of cooperation within the framework of OTS is of urgent importance. It was emphasized that the establishment of the Civil Defense Mechanism of the Organization of Turkic States will create conditions for organizing the tackling emergency situations at a more reliable level in member and observer countries of the organization.
Expressing his gratitude for the cordial meeting, the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Kubanychbek Omuraliev, expressed his satisfaction with his visit to the country and emphasized the importance of the 2nd meeting of the Ministers on Disaster and Emergency Management of member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States. The guest noted that he is confident that the successfully conducted international training with the participation of the forces of the emergency management agencies of the member countries will make a significant contribution to the implementation of the mechanism of joint action in tackling emergency situations among the Turkic countries, the identification of real opportunities and the improvement of the management system.
