Today, the families relocated to the city of Lachin were presented with the keys to their homes, APA’s regional correspondent reports.
After being welcomed, the families relocated to Lachin were provided with detailed information by ANAMA employees regarding the dangers posed by mines and unexploded military ordnance. The families were advised to stay away from unfamiliar and suspicious objects and to report such cases to the relevant authorities.
Employees of the Special Representative Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lachin district, the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in the Lachin district, the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, and other officials participated in the key handover ceremony. The families gladly accepted the keys and settled into their homes.
Note that at this phase, 20 families (86 people) have been relocated to the city of Lachin. With this, a total of 591 families – 2,177 people – have been permanently settled in the city of Lachin, and overall, 956 families – 3,602 people – have been permanently settled in the Lachin district.
These are families who had been temporarily settled in various areas of the republic in dormitories, sanatoriums, pioneer camps, unfinished buildings, and administrative facilities. All necessary conditions have been created for the relocated families to be accommodated in houses that have been restored or newly built in the city of Lachin by the order of the head of state.

In accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, another resettlement convoy has been sent to the city of Lachin, APA reports.
On September 23, the next resettlement convoy, consisting of families who had been temporarily settled in dormitories, sanatoriums, pioneer camps, unfinished buildings, and administrative facilities in various regions of the country, departed from Baku’s Garadagh district. At this stage, 20 families – a total of 86 people – were relocated to the city of Lachin.
As a result of the Victory achieved by the valiant Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President, Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, internally displaced persons have been given the opportunity to return voluntarily, safely, and with dignity to their native lands after 30 years.
The returning residents of Lachin expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state care extended to them.
They also conveyed their appreciation to the valiant Azerbaijani Army, as well as to the heroic soldiers and officers who liberated the lands from occupation, and prayed for mercy for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in this cause, wishing patience to their families.
