The next meeting of the Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Issues, represented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Confederation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions (AHIK) and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) was held, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection announced, APA reports.
It was reported that the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Chairman of the Commission Sahil Babayev, the Chairman of the AHIK, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev, the Chairman of the ASK Mammad Musayev, members of the Commission from all three institutions took part in the meeting.
S. Babayev noted the social reforms carried out in our country in recent years, as well as wage reforms. The Labor Protection Center, which is being established under the State Labor Inspection Service under the Ministry, will serve to improve management in the field of labor protection and workplace certification, according to President Ilham Aliyev's Decree dated May 23, 2023, and the benefits of this Center for employees and employers have been mentioned.
The importance of the joint work done in the social partnership with AHIK and ASK in the ratification of International Labor Organization Conventions, as well as Convention No. 155 "On Occupational Safety and Hygiene" in recent years, on the platform of the Tripartite Commission, was emphasized in the process of improving social reforms, as well as legislation on labor and social protection.
At the meeting of the commission, new projects and proposals related to amendments to the labor and social insurance legislation were discussed. Furthermore, there was a discussion about assuring the active engagement of social partners in the process of developing individual development plans for children living in institutions, as well as avoiding children from entering institutions.
The challenges of implementing adequate preventive steps to promote healthy and safe working circumstances, as well as enhancing cooperation in the implementation of educational initiatives for employers and employees to combat informal employment, were discussed.
The actions of the State Labor Inspection Service cooperating with partner institutions were brought to light in this field. It was noted that educational trainings on labor protection were performed in the workplaces of our liberated lands in cooperation with the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action, and instructional booklets developed by the Service on relevant issues were delivered to the participants.
The Work Plan of the Tripartite Commission for 2023 was also approved at the meeting.
