The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Azerbaijan Republic has created a shelter in Khankandi city for vulnerable population groups, APA reports.
For this purpose, a three-story 30-bed building with water, electricity system, kitchen, sanitary junction, restroom, and laundry room has been chosen.
Reception of residents to the shelter began on October 10, 2023.
They are provided with hot meals 3 times a day.
2 psychologists and 2 social workers have been sent to Khankandi since September 30, 2023, to work in the shelter and are currently providing social services to the residents of the shelter.
Placement in the shelter is voluntary and those who are unwilling to stay overnight are also able to benefit from food three times a day, and social services.
Representatives of ICRC also visit the shelter several times a day, to familiarize themselves with the conditions.
