According to Memorandum of Understanding signed between Marshall Legacy Institute and Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), 6 more Malinois breed mine detection dogs were handed over to the Mine Action Agency of The Republic of Azerbaijan, ANAMA told APA.
Specially trained mine detection dogs go through the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) conformity assessment process after being kept in quarantine mode established in the Horadiz Regional Center of the Agency.
Then, they will be involved in de-mining operations carried out in Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur.
It was noted that mine detection dogs that were handed over to the Agency in February and April of the current year, have gone through the relevant stages and contribute to the establishment of a safe environment in liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
