“Azerbaijan has been nominated to host the next 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in 2026,” Mukhtar Babayev, the designated President of COP29, said on the opening day of the Baku Climate Action Week, APA reports.
He said that in just 3 weeks, the 16th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity is scheduled to be held in Cali, Colombia.
"Using this platform, I would like to announce that Azerbaijan has been nominated to host 17th, the next Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in 2026. The final decision on hosting will be made later this month during the COP in Cali."
