In accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev regarding the increase in salaries, pensions, and social payments, it is planned to allocate 1 billion 370 million manats of additional funds in the budget, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said this during a joint meeting of the Milli Majlis committees for Law Policy and State-Building, Defence, Security and Counter-Corruption Committee, Human Rights Committee, and committee for Regional Affairs, during the discussion of the draft state budget for next year, APA reports.
The Minister said that they are engaged in the development of domestic financial markets: "By reducing foreign debt, we are developing our domestic financial markets. The Ministry of Finance ensured the increase in domestic public debt. Our foreign public debt has decreased proportionally. Thus, we are fulfilling the requirements of the strategy approved by the President. The costs of servicing foreign public debt will amount to 1 billion 442 million manats next year."
