Mahmud Karimov: There will be change of personnel in Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences - <font color=red>EXCLUSIVE </font>

He stated that ANAS had about 9000 workers at present and noted that staff reduction should be based on any mechanism.
â€œWe cannot cut a worker without any reason. Number of workers should be correct,â€ he said.
Karimov added that workers of ANAS would be attested next year.
â€œI do not say that there are many scientific workers at present. There are active worker and weak worker among them,â€ he said. To him, workers are attested regularly, but sometimes these attestations are of formal character.
â€œAttestations gave chance to worker to change their posts. Attestations do not create condition for staff reduction. There should be other rules for dismissal. The work is under way at present,â€ he said.
Karimov underlined that one-year contract with workers was applied in the ANAS.
â€œIf worker does not fulfill duties during this period, next contract will not be signed with the worker,â€ he said.
Karimov stated that there was such contract with members of ANAS presidium and officials of several institutes of the body.
â€œThe contract will be signed with workers of Academy from January 1, 2009. Short-term contract system will be productive for elimination of problems in this field,â€ he said.
