Final decision on construction of nuclear research reactor in Azerbaijan to be made late in November

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. The final decision in connection with the sterilization device and nuclear research reactor to be constructed in Azerbaijan will be made at the meeting of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors late in November, director of Radiation Problems Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Adil Garibov told APA. He said that IAEA had already coordinated the projects.
â€œThe construction will begin after 2011 and will be financed by IAEA,â€ he said.
As regards the funds that will be allocated on the project, primarily it is shown as $270,000, but the final decision has not been made yet.
Place has been allotted for the construction of nuclear research reactor and sterilization device near Khirdalan.
