Scientists decode a genome of cancer carrier

Baku. Victoria Dementyevaâ€“APA. Researchers of Washington University Medical Center have taken an important step toward responding the question why do healthy cells in the body start growing uncontrollably and cause disease by looking at the genetics of cancer. And for the first time in the laboratory scientists have decoded an entire genome of the woman who has the disease, according to a new study.
"This is the first time that we’ve been able to look at the entire set of genes from a cancer patient, and that is key because that’s going to help us understand what goes wrong," said Dr. Richard Wilson of Washington University in St. Louis, the senior author on the study.
