Official Baku offers Georgia to establish Georgia-Azerbaijan State University

Laura Jabrayilli â€“ APA. â€œAccording to the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia, as well as Georgian scientists, establishment of special-status Georgia-Azerbaijan State University can solve the problems related to migration and personnel. Despite all pressures, the existence of successful joint economic projects between Azerbaijan and Georgia makes it possible to implement joint educational project as wellâ€, officers of Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia, candidate of physics and mathematics Fakhri Hajiyev told APA. He said Azerbaijanâ€™s Embassy also supported this idea.
â€œRepresentatives of Azerbaijanâ€™s Education Ministry have recently visited Georgia. The issue was officially stated at the meeting in the Ministry of Education. Georgian side has not officially commented on the issue. There are such joint universities in the world. Basing on this practice establishment of this university will be also effective for the Georgians living in Azerbaijan. Besides, Azerbaijanis living in Georgia will not leave for other countries to studyâ€, he said.
It is not yet known in which part of Georgia the university will be established.
