Azerbaijan President is expected to decree on resettlement of internally displaced persons in new towns

Sanan Huseynov, the press secretary of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, told APA-Economics that 6,227 internally displaced families, or 25,550 internally displaced persons are living in 15 special towns in 12 districts of the country.
1,479 internally displaced families (6,060 persons) are living in 5 buildings owned by the military units of the Defense Ministry, 2,768 internally displaced families (11,000 persons) are living in 262 school buildings in 45 cities and districts.
The towns for temporary settlement of internally displaced persons are built though funding from the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan.
During 2001-2007 AZN 360 million from the State Oil Fund and finances from other sources were spent on establishment of 49 settlements consisting of 15,713 refuge and IDP houses. /APA-Economics/
