Azerbaijani media representatives participate in European Newspaper Congress’s meeting in Vienna

Baku – APA. Next annual meeting of the European Newspaper Congress was held last week in Vienna, Austria. Editor of APA Information Agency Vugar Mustafayev and editor-in-chief of “Zerkalo/Ayna” newspapers Elchin Shikhlinski represented Azerbaijan in the meeting. APA reports that the representatives of more than 200 newspapers, magazines and information agencies from 30 countries participated in the forum.

The speeches about the main newspaper tendencies in Europe, effect of the electronic products on the labor market, the functioning of mass media in weekend and holidays, effect of bad news on human psychology, social media and socio-economic researches, experience of publication of regional and local newspapers, introduced errors were listened at the 3-days event.

Along with it, the income sources, pricing mechanism, combating the pay-wall system and perspectives in this sphere were discussed at the forum.

The leaders of 3 newspapers were given prizes. Thus, “Berlingske” (Denmark) were announced as Europe’s daily national newspaper of the year, “NZZ am Sonntag” (Germany) - Europe’s weekly national newspaper of the year, “Hordaland” (Norway) - Europe’s local newspaper of the year.

Japan Tobacco International Corporation provided a financial support to Azerbaijani media representatives’ participation in the forum.
