The minister noted that the planned works were continuously carried out in the quake area: “15 commissions carry out research for determining damaged houses in Gakh, Zagatala and Balaken, because it is impossible to inspect houses in a perfunctory manner. The commissions must carry our exact research. We will do our work on the basis of the commission’s presentation”.

Heydarov noted that the construction materials, which are necessary for carrying out the first works, were brought to the area: “First aid was rendered to the population and it will be continued once a month. The temporary bathrooms are being constructed for the population, several of them have been already opened. The residents, whose houses were destroyed, were provided with the special tents. They can rest and watch TV here. All issues are in the focus of attention of the president. We reported every day to the president about the conducted works”.

The minister said the local population closely helped to remove the quake’s consequences: “Local residents expressed their desire to work in construction works. For this purpose they addressed the companies that will work here. The residents agreed with those companies and can participate in construction works”.

Heydarov said that the aftershocks were continuing in the region: “The aftershocks are continuing in the region. It is a geological process. According to the specialists, no destructive aftershocks are expected in the future. Despite it, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is taking security measures”.
