Azerbaijani Emergency Minister: â€œAccording to the latest reports, 3123 constructions were destroyed or damaged by the quake in Zagatalaâ€

But the buildings were not completely destroyed during the first quake. The 5.7-magnitude aftershocks, which occurred in the evening that day, destroyed a part of the constructions. According to the commissionâ€™s information for yesterday, about 3000 houses, as well as 123 social facilities were destroyed or damaged. It is the latest report, but is being still specified. The final list will be ready in 3-4 daysâ€, said Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kemaleddin Heydarov, APA reports.

Minister said that no human losses were recorded during the quake.

Heydarov said that Azerbaijani President visited Zagatala and Gakh regions yesterday and became familiar with the situation, held a meeting and gave relevant instructions.

Minister said that the tents were distributed among the residents of quake-affected houses: â€œWomen and children received first aid, baby foods were distributed among them. According to the presidentâ€™s instruction, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated AZN 20 mln for the elimination of quakeâ€™s consequences. It gives us an opportunity to analyze the situation and render first aid. May be, the additional fund will be allocated for the construction of new houses and social facilitiesâ€.

â€œThe population understands that it is a natural disaster. We work maximally to assure comfort of the people settled in temporary places and tents. Employees of both health and emergency ministries render medical and other services to the residents. Our main headquarters is situated in Zagatala. We have the headquarters in the other villages tooâ€.

Asked about the amount of money which will be allocated in general for the removal of quakeâ€™s consequences, the minister said that it is impossible to say an exact figure because the investigation hasnâ€™t been finished yet: â€œNow we are determining the number of damaged houses. 4.0-magnitude quake occurred there this morning. It could be dangerous for the damaged constructionsâ€.
