Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. The third station for earthquake forecasting has opened in Azerbaijan, director of Cybernetics Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Telman Aliyev told APA. He said the new station is based in Siyazan. The fourth station for earthquake forecasting will be opened in Naftalan within ten days.

“Two more stations will be opened in Neftchala and Nakhchivan. The station in Neftchala will be opened next month. As regards Nakhchivan, the project is being developed,” he said.

Telman Aliyev said six stations will enable to predict the exact time and place of the earthquakes in Azerbaijan.
“Turkmenistan and Turkey are interested in this project of the Cybernetics Institute and want to apply it. If stations are opened in these countries, we will be able to forecast the earthquakes in the entire region,” he said.

The first station for earthquake forecasting was opened in Azerbaijan in May, 2010.
