Azerbaijani parliamentarian demands repeated forensic medical examination of Gadabay resident who died in police office

Member of Azerbaijani parliament demands repeated forensic medical examination of his voter, who died in the police office on July 17, Member of the parliament from Gadabay Nazim Mammadov told APA. Mammadov said he doubted that resident of Duz Rasullu village of Gadabay Sohbat Gasimov, who had worked as a taxi driver in Baku, died of heart failure in Binagadi district police office.
“Sohbat Gasimov’s family wants to investigate whether he died of heart failure or not. They appealed to me about it. They want repeated forensic medical examination with the participation of his family members. I appealed to the related bodies for unbiased investigation of the case,” he said.

Driver Sohbat Gasimov did not obey the order of the traffic police and was taken to Binagadi district police on July 17. According to some reports, Gasimov died in the police office because of unidentified causes. After that Gasimov was taken to hospital #6 and autopsy was performed without informing his relatives.

Human rights commissioner is also carrying out investigation.
