Growing radicalization among some religious groups in Azerbaijan creates problems– State Committee

He made the remarks at the event on “The role of traditions in family formation” held at the parliament on Wednesday.

 

They [radical groups] oppose the secular state, in particular women’s rights to education, work and participation in public and social life of the country, according to Ismayilov.

 

He said that all of these problems should be resolved within the law, noting the importance of educational work in this direction.

 

Ismayilov went on to add that not all traditions of Azerbaijan are rooted in religion. “But the question is whether all the religious factors involved in the formation of our traditions originate from a true of pseudo religion. The problem is unrelated to Islam. Wrong ideas are conveyed us under the guise of Islam,” he said.
