Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attends Iftar Party - UPDATED - PHOTO
The event kicked off with the recitation of verses from the Quran.
Addressing the event, Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade thanked the Head of State for accepting his invitation to attend the Iftar party.
He also thanked the religious figures for attending the event.
Head of the Baku and Caspian Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Father Alexander, muftis of the Karachay–Cherkess and Chechen Republics Ismayil Berdiev and Soltan Mirzayev praised Azerbaijan`s contributions to strengthening Islamic unity and developing global interfaith dialogue.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev has become regarded as a fine tradition of iftar clear evidence of cohesion in our society, unity between state and religion in the country for the sake of general ideas.
The President said that interreligious dialogue in Azerbaijan is exemplary in nature and in our country, representatives of all nations live as one family.
The President emphasized that Azerbaijan, respectfully referring to the universal values and integrating into the international community is making a contribution and Islamic solidarity.
Speaking on the progress made in Azerbaijan, socio-economic sphere, the President noted that the successful performances of Azerbaijani sportsmen in the XXX Olympic Games in London are clear evidence of the comprehensive development of the country and the logical result of carried out at the state level, a deliberate policy to progress in this sphere.
The President conveyed to the participants and the Iftar ceremony Azerbaijani people my best wishes on the occasion of Ramadan.
