Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh: â€œNumber of people converting to Islam is rising in Russiaâ€

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. â€œThe number of people converting to Islam has been rising in Russia in recent years. Islam is spread in this countryâ€™s southern region, especially in the Caucasus. The interest in Islam has increased in recent yearsâ€, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslim Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh said in his interview to Turkish press, APA reports. He said that most of European Muslims live in Russia: â€œPeople, who arrive in Russia from the Muslim countries, particularly from the Central Asian countries to work, have an effect on rise of number of Muslims in this countryâ€.

Pashazadeh also spoke about Turkey-Azerbaijan relations: â€œWe have always felt Turkeyâ€™s support. We are very grateful to Turkey. We signed a protocol on cooperation for developing religious and cultural relations between the Caucasus Muslim Board and Turkeyâ€™s Ministry for Religious Affairs. We carry out great works for developing the relations between the two countries in all spheres, especially the cultural and moral relationsâ€.
