APA reports that hundreds of Orthodox Christian Udins, as well as representatives of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Regional Executive Power participated in holiday event organized on April 15 in Jotari Alban church in Nij settlement.

Priest and religious leader of the church, as well as representatives of Alban-Udin Christian Community spoke about Easterâ€™s essence, conditions created for religious rites, attention and care of the country to them, and conveyed their congratulations on the state. The Udins lighted a candle in the church and prayed.

After the religious rites, Kala Akhsibay, the ancient holiday of Udins, was celebrated in outside the church. The ancient tradition of Udins was revived after 172 years, songs in Udin language were performed, various dishes and sweets were presented in the event.

Kala Akhsibay, which means â€œa great holidayâ€ in Udin language, hasnâ€™t been officially celebrated because of several reasons after the closing of Alban church, Udin people refused to go to the church and prayed at home. Jotari temple, which was successfully restored in 2002, was opened for performing religious rites and celebrating Kala Akhsibay holiday.
