Venue from where Azerbaijani pilgrims will leave for Hajj by buses changed

Baku. Parvin Abbasov –APA. The venue, from where the Azerbaijani pilgrims will leave for Hajj by buses, has been changed, press service of the Caucasian Muslims Board told APA. This year the pilgrims will leave from the square near Bina shopping center in Garadagh district.

The venue has been changed because of the construction in Azadlig square. Underground car park is being constructed in Azadlig square.

Some of the Azerbaijani pilgrims will leave for Hajj by buses, others by planes. 44 buses and five planes have been allocated for the Hajj pilgrimage. The buses will leave on October 23-24, but planes on October 28-31.

Azerbaijani pilgrims will travel to Mecca and Medina in accordance with the protocols signed between the Caucasian Muslims Board and Saudi Arabia’s Hajj Ministry.

2000 Azerbaijani Muslims will be on Hajj pilgrimage in 2011.

Bus travel will cost AZN 2650, air travel AZN 3750.

Due to the developments in Syria, the route of bus travelers will be changed this year. The buses will head to Saudi Arabia via Iran and Iraq. The pilgrims can visit holy places in Iraq, including Karbala.
