Caucasian Muslim Board proposes teaching of religion in Azerbaijani secondary schools

Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. “The inclusion of subject on religion to the programs of Azerbaijani secondary school will be very usefulâ€, Deputy Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board Haji Sabir told journalists, APA reports.
He sited Russia as an example for justifying his opinion: “The lessons on religion are held in secondary schools of Russia’s 19 provinces, the staff is being prepared for teaching this subject. It is possible to hold such experiment in one of the schools of Baku. I think that such lessons will be useful. Such steps are taken in the countries too. I think that sooner or later Azerbaijan will take step in this directionâ€.
Haji Sabir said that the question was not to perform the ritual pray at the schools, but informing children religion, Islam, as well as the other religions.
