Caucasian Muslim Board proposes teaching of religion in Azerbaijani secondary schools

Baku. Victoria Dementieva â€“ APA. â€œThe inclusion of subject on religion to the programs of Azerbaijani secondary school will be very usefulâ€, Deputy Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board Haji Sabir told journalists, APA reports.

He sited Russia as an example for justifying his opinion: â€œThe lessons on religion are held in secondary schools of Russiaâ€™s 19 provinces, the staff is being prepared for teaching this subject. It is possible to hold such experiment in one of the schools of Baku. I think that such lessons will be useful. Such steps are taken in the countries too. I think that sooner or later Azerbaijan will take step in this directionâ€.

Haji Sabir said that the question was not to perform the ritual pray at the schools, but informing children religion, Islam, as well as the other religions.
