Indonesian ambassador to Azerbaijan visits APA Holding

Baku. Turbat Baghirova – APA. Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Husnan Bey Fananie visited APA Holding on Thursday.

 

Fananie noted that his main goal as an Indonesian ambassador to Azerbaijan is to promote the development of friendly relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.  

 

The ambassador said one of his goals is to deepen cooperation in the fields of tourism, investment and trade.

 

“We want Azerbaijani businessmen to invest in the economy of Indonesia. We also want Indonesian businessman to operate in Azerbaijan,” he said.  

 

Indonesia-Azerbaijan relations that were established after Azerbaijan gained its independence are on the rise today, the diplomat added.

 

He also underlined the importance of mutual visits of media representatives from Indonesia and Azerbaijan for a better promotion of the two countries.

 

Indonesia is a multicultural and pluralistic country, said Fananie, praising Azerbaijan’s declaration of 2016 as the “Year of multiculturalism.”

 

With regard to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the ambassador stated that Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan, and Indonesia stands for a peaceful solution to the conflict.  

 

In turn, Gabil Abbasoghlu, a member of APA Holding’s Board of Directors, director general of Lent.az information agency, noted that after gaining independence, Azerbaijan began to attach importance to relations with Indonesia.

 

Abbasoghlu stressed the importance of strengthening the cooperation between media outlets of Azerbaijan and Indonesia, saying that APA Holding can play a special role in this regard.

 

The editor of APA news agency, Ilham Sultanov, expressed hope for the development of cooperation between the two countries’ leading media agencies.
