Azerbaijani channel Region TV renamed

Baku. Etibar Mammadov – APA. The administration of the Region TV on Monday held an informatory conference about their intent to change the channel’s name and brand.

Ismayil Hasanov, Region TV director for strategic development and media, said the administration has decided to update the channel in the beginning of the new season without making any changes to the priorities, adding that reason for such a decision lies in the channel’s improvement, changing viewer taste, etc.

“We, at the same time, adjusted our new TV conception to requests from international organizations. From now on, we’re going to operate as ARB TV with a new conception,” he said.

According to him, televisions included in ARB TV will be renamed.

“Regional televisions included in our channel will be renamed. Cenub TV will be called ARB Cenub, Alternativ TV – ARB Ulduz, Kanal-S – ARB Sheki, Kepez TV – ARB Kepez, RTV – ARB Shimal, Gunash TV – ARB Gunash, El TV – ARAB Aran, TTV – ARB 24.

The director noted that what is going to change is not just the name, but also the programs broadcast on the channel.

“We’re not going to just rename ourselves, we’re also going to change the programs broadcast. 70 percent of the programs broadcast so far will be suspended in the new season and they will be replaced by better ones which we believe will satisfy the taste of our viewers,” Hasanov added.
