Azerbaijan reports 14% drop in cargo transit

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-ECONOMICS. Cargo traffic reached 5 875 800 tons in Azerbaijan during January-February, up 74.05 times on the same period last year.
Azerbaijan State Customs Committee said exports were 4 796 500 tons and imports 1 079 300 tons.
Exports were mainly carried by sea (54 400 tons), rail (526 500), road (62 400), air (400) and pipeline (4 151 900) and imports were delivered by sea (20 200 tons), rail (837 700), road (208 800) and air (3 300).
944 200 tons of transit cargo were transported via Azerbaijan to Switzerland (409 600), Bermudas (111 200), Italy (100 700), Georgia (99 000), Turkmenistan (65 100), Tajikistan (40 700), Iran (39 500), Russia (24 700) and Turkey (19 600).
Cargo transit dropped by 14.4% or 155 500 tons on the year-on-year basis.
