Baku hosts BarCamp Caspian â€“ 2009

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. The BarCamp Caspian â€“ 2009 International Conference has kicked off at Kavkaz University in Baku, highlighting the Internet, information technology and advanced media sectors as the key areas of focus.
Rufat Gulmammadov, Information Society Officer of Azerbaijanâ€™s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies; Rasim Aliguliyev, Director of the Information Technologies Institute of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences; Osman Gunduz, President of Azerbaijan Internet Forum (AIF) and others were present in the opening ceremony.
In addition to Azeri specialists, representatives from 20 countries, including Germany, Italy, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Central Asia and Baltic States joined the event.
Delta Telecom, a fastest growing service provider in the Caucasus region, is the platinum sponsor for the conference which is also supported by HP, Norwayâ€™s Opera Software, AIF, Print Art and Azerbaijanâ€™s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies.
Officials from IT giants like Google, Germanyâ€™s Sevenload video site, Wordpress, Creative Commons and others are attending the event.
The conference will hold a variety of presentations on the latest Internet technologies, innovations and projects, as well as the future of the Internet.
