St. Petersburg to host next round of discussion on the North-South Project

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov- APA-Economics. Railroad officials from Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia will come together in St. Petersburg from March 9-13 to discuss current affairs and plans concerning the North-South Project, said Nadir Azmammadov, Press Secretary of Azerbaijan State Railways Company (ADDY).
Heads of railways of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan signed a trilateral memorandum on mutual understanding on March 29 on the conditions for building the Gazvin-Rasht-Astara rail line, which is part of the International North-South Transport Corridor.
Russia, Iran and India launched negotiations on establishment of the North-South Corridor in September, 2000 and final agreement was reached on May 11, 2002. Azerbaijan joined the project in 2005.
