Aztelekom files lawsuit against local AzEuroTel JV in Azerbaijan

He added that it is not correct to suspend communication services to telephone exchanges with 497, 492 and 437 phone number initials until the court makes a decision on the lawsuit.
He didnâ€™t specify what measures AzEuroTel will take if the communication service is cut off, adding that it may take Aztelecom to court.
Aztelecom, a unit under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, announced it would cut off some communications services to AzEuroTel because it didnâ€™t pay charges for interconnection services despite warnings.
According to the report, Aztelecom will cut off the interconnection service to telephone exchanges with 497, 492 and 437 phone number initials and this will cut off the subscribers connection to subscribers of other telephone exchanges.
Aztelecom said AzEuroTel will be responsible for the cut-off.
Rizvan Safarov said the bills are not paid because Aztelecom failed to meet the obligations undertaken under the contract and limited channels.
Zahir Veliyev, Technical Director of Aztelecom, said the company provides normal-quality traffic service to AzEuroTel.
According to him, if there had been any limitation on channels, AzEuroTel would have provided service through the aforesaid telephone exchanges.
Hazratgulu Mammadov, inter-city and international communications officer of Aztelecom, said the company provides services to all operators across the country and imposed no limitation on any of them.
â€œThe outstanding debts shall be paid off. The only demand is tha they shoul pay bills on time,â€ he added.
APA learned that Aztelecom has already filed a lawsuit against AzEuroTel with the Baku Economic Court #1 for the payment of outstanding debt. The trail is scheduled for March 4.
