Baku – APA. Internationally wanted former employee of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry was detained at Domodedovo airport in Russia’s capital. APA reports quoting lenta.ru that the Russian Internal Affairs Ministry Chief Office in Irkutsk Oblast reported about the detention of internationally wanted Azerbaijani citizen.
Azerbaijani law-enforcement agencies have declared this unnamed person internationally wanted over charges of fraud. He is accused of causing approximately $125 000 damage to the state by abusing his power and using false accounting documents while working at the Defense Ministry in 2010. He crossed the Russian border with false documents in 2011 and started working in Khudoelansk village of Nijneudinsk region of Irkutsk oblast. After Irkutsk police identified him, he flied to Moscow and attempted to leave Russia. Irkutsk police informed the Russian Internal Affairs Ministry Office at Domodedovo airport in this regard and the Azerbaijani citizen was detained.
