Baku – APA. An employee of Shahdagh National Park has been beaten on the job by a group of four people who entered the park illegally.

On June 26, a group of four people drove their VAZ (registration plate number 90-VN-103) into the national park’s territory illegally and attempted to build a fire in the area, the Ministry of Ecology and National Resources said in a statement to APA on June 29.

Farhad Jalilov, who is in charge of the Shamakhy section of Shahdagh National Park, reminded them of their entry into the national park being illegal and the impermissibility of building a fire in the forest. When he demanded they should leave the forest area, the group insulted him and beat him, inflicting injuries on his head. Then they fled the area. And Jalilov went to the Shamakhy District Central Hospital.

The incident was reported to local police and 102 call center of the Interior Ministry. Efforts are underway to capture the offenders.

The ministry’s press service said physical violence against nature guards has happened many times to date.
