Baku – APA. Under the instruction of Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova, members of the National Preventive Group (NPG) under the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) have visited Baku Detention facility of the Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service, the Ombudsman’s Office told APA.
The Ombudsman’s representatives met with about 20 prisoners in the facility, including Intigam Aliyev, Khadija Ismayilova, Rasim Alizada, Asif Yusifli and examine the detention conditions and treatment with the prisoners.
The prisoners didn’t complain of the detention conditions and treatment with them, the issue raised by two prisoners regarding the condition was discussed with the facility authorities and appropriate recommendations were made.
