Death toll rises to 15 following Kazan mall blaze, wounded Azerbaijani citizen identified - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov - APA. One of the Azerbaijani citizens wounded as a result of the fire at a shopping center in the Russian city of Kazan has been identified.

Head of the Department of All-Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis in the Republic of Tatarstan, Ziyafat Gasimov told APA that he is Taghiyev Salam Bakhtiyar from Masalli.

Taghiyev broke both legs and was taken to Kazan City Hospital #7. Our compatriot was engaged in trade at the shopping center.

Gasimov said that more Azerbaijani citizens died at the shopping mall and they are being identified. “We received information that there are two bodies of the Azerbaijanis, one being minor at the mortuary. Despite efforts of the relevant authorities to keep confidential the information, we are trying to clarify their names.”

Baku – APA. The number of victims of the fire at a shopping center in the Russian city of Kazan, Tatarstan, rose to 15, said head of the press service of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry in Tatarstan Andrey Rodygin, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

Currently 17 people are missing.

Baku – APA. Since “Amdiral” shopping mall in Kazan caught fire on Wednesday, the death toll has hit 14, said Andrey Rodygin, head of the press service of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry in Tatarstan, APA reported citing RIA Novosti.

Chief of the Volga Regional Center of Russia's Emergency Ministry, Igor Panshin, said 25 people may still have remained under the rubble.

The accident has also killed a lieutenant-colonel of the head office of Tatarstan’s Emergencies Ministry. His identity is unclear.

Note that, the fire has claimed the lives of 3 Azerbaijanis. One of them has been identified as Pashayev Parviz Telman, an Azerbaijani citizen born in 1995. The other two are said to be Azerbaijanis from Georgia.
