Interior Ministry, Prosecutor General's Office issue joint statement on accidents resulting in child deaths

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Azerbaijan’s Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office have issued a joint statement on accidents resulting in child deaths.

According to the statement, increasing child deaths due to falls from apartment balconies and windows as a result of carelessness and negligence of some parents triggers serious public concern.

“3-year old Isa Valiyev fell to his death in Nizami district on May 12, 3-year old Jale Ibrahimova - on May 28, 2-year old Imran Guliyev - in Binagadi district on June 28, 5-year old Nadir Khalilov - on July 3 and 2-year old Arzu Abishzade - in Pirallahi district on July 10 from balconies and windows of high-rises,” said the statement.

Law-enforcement forces examined the scenes and bodies, forensic experts were appointed and other necessary procedures were carried out.

Criminal cases were initiated over the abovementioned cases under the Article 124.1 (murder on imprudence) of the Criminal Code, the investigation is underway.

To prevent recurrence of such cases which lead to the tragedy of families, parents are advised to be more careful and responsible, especially with their young children.
