Elchin Behbudov told APA that they met with Parviz Hashimli at the investigatory isolation ward: “Parviz Hashimli said that the detention conditions are normal. He is being provided with food three times a day. He had telephone conversation with his family on December 17. He was once allowed to meet his wife. He wants to have regular phone conversations. I have raised this issue. They said that the condition would be created. He is dissatisfied with delays in the investigation. He wants to be transferred to Baku Jail. I have informed the administration of the jail in this regard. They said that the court decided on his detention at the Ministry of National Security.

Parviz Hashimli asked for independent newspapers. They told me that the jail is provided with state-owned newspapers. All detainees are provided with these newspapers. Parviz Hashimli said that he had been tortured and wanted to commit suicide at the recent hearing. I asked him about it several times. I said that public is waiting to hear from me. He said that he wrote to the court on this issue. I informed the administration about it as well. They said such a thing hadn’t happen. I also asked if they took the notes of Hashimli on the way to the court. They said the notes were read and returned to him.”
