The Office’s press service told APA that restriction of Said Fikrat oglu Nuriyev’s movement, the citizen of Republic of Azerbaijan who was born in Baku on October 23, 1981 and registered in apartment 9, house 11, Vung Tau Street, Khatai district, Baku city is related to the criminal case being investigated by the Investigation Department for Grave Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office. Nuriyev had to be questioned as a witness in the criminal case, and involved in other acts related to the investigations to be carried out.
The General Prosecutor's Office also stated that Nuriyev hasn’t applied to any relevant body for renunciation of his Azerbaijani citizenship. Under the legislation in force, belonging of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan to citizenship of a foreign country is not recognized with respect to Nuriyev’s case.
Seid Nuriyev was the former deputy chairman of the New Thought Youth Organization.
