APA reports that according to the information provided by the State Customs Committee and press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, as a result of the operations carried out on July 28-August 8, 2014 by the employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Customs Offenses of the State Customs Committee 116 packages of light brown powder-drugs with totals weight of 69 kg 610 grams were seized under the floor of the trailer of a truck driven by Turkish citizens who was moving from Astara Customs chekpoint to Georgia.
The criminal cases has been launched under articles #206.3.2 (on preliminary arrangement by group of persons) #234.4.1 and #234.4.3 (manufacture, acquisition, storage, shipment, or sale for the illicit manufacture and processing of drugs by prior collusion) of the Criminal Code.
The Turkish citizen was charged under these articles and sentenced to pre-trial detention.
Currently, investigation and operations are underway to determine and bring to justice other person(s) involved in the crime.
