Court sustains some motions regarding Intigam Aliyevâ€™s case

Baku. Shahriyar Alizada – APA. The Baku Court on Grave Crimes held the next preliminary hearing on the case of imprisoned lawyer Intigam Aliyev on Feb.3, APA reports.

The hearing chaired by judge Rasim Sadigov allowed Intigam Aliyev to sit next to his attorneys.

Then the attorneys filed a motion against to commute Aliyev’s imprisonment. The court rejected the motion.

Attorney Javad Javadli said that Aliyev was taken to the court in a closed car and every time his situation gets worse and he asked the court to apply to the Penitentiary Service in this regard.

The judge said the court will consider it.

Following this, the motions regarding conduction of audio and video recording and return of the documents taken from Aliyev’s house during the investigation were considered.

The court rejected the first motion while partly sustained the second one and didn’t object to the return of some documents.

The hearing will continue in the afternoon.

Aliyev faces charges under the Criminal Code’s articles #213.1 (tax evasion), #308.2 (abuse of power), and #192.2 (illegal business) and #179.3.2 (assignment or waste).
