Azerbaijani reportedly killed in Syria turned out to be wanted by Interpol

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. The Azerbaijani reportedly killed in Syria yesterday turned out to be wanted by Interpol.

 

APA reports that the person, who was introduced as Urfan by mujahideen, was a resident of Khudat, 39-year-old Urfan Aghcabeyov.

 

Azerbaijani law-enforcement bodies declared Urfan wanted a few years ago. The relevant notice was posted on Interpol’s website.

 

According to Interpol, Urfan was fluent in Azerbaijani, Russian and Pashto. He was accused of setting up armed groups outside the territory of Azerbaijan Republic, arming them and fighting under illegal armed groups.

 

APA reported yesterday that three more Azerbaijanis were killed in Syria. Though the websites owned by mujahideen have not revealed the names of the two killed Azerbaijanis, the other’s name was reportedly Urfan.
