Arrest terms extended for Azerbaijanis accused of murdering retired police officer, five family members in Russia

Baku. Turbat Baghirova – APA. Arrest terms have been extended for those accused of murdering the former police chief in Syzran city of the Samara region, retired colonel Andrei Gosht and his five family members.

The accused – Azerbaijani nationals Orxan Zahrabov, 24, Roman Fataliyev, 23, Islam Babayev, 22, and ethnic Tajik named Mahmadali Ahmadov, 23, will stay in custody till October 24, 2016, according to samara.aif.ru.

Former police chief Andrei Gosht and his five family members were found dead in a house in the village of Ivashevka on April 24.

A seven-year old girl was found alive in the house and taken to hospital with head and other wounds.

On May 3, the investigators identified three Azerbaijani citizens who were arrested as suspects in the multiple-murder case.

Mahmadali Ahmadov was detained at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport on May 4 upon his arrival there from Dushanbe.

According to preliminary version, the murder was committed with the purpose of robbery.
