From January 1 to February 28, 142 road accidents occurred, killing 39 people, injuring 177, the State Traffic Police Office of Baku City Main Police Office told APA.
Compared to the previous year, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 24, death toll by 56 and the number of injured by 65 facts.
During the reporting period, administrative protocol were drawn up over 2,499 drunken drivers, 436 drivers causing traffic accidents, 585 drivers disobeying police orders, 109 drivers committing auto-hooliganism, 559 ones driving cars with curtains and films, 614 ones driving cars without proper documents and 27,531 drivers violating crossing of intersections.
The State Traffic Police Office took appropriate measures regarding 18,337 persons who didn’t use pedestrian crossings in January and February.
